MLB rumors have been circulating that John Smoltz, famed pitcher of the Atlanta Braves has had throwing arm troubles that will sideline him indefinitely. There are four months left in the regular season, which may be to short of a time for Smoltz to recover. In an ESPN interview, he said, “I'm not going to lie, I'm getting tired of pitching in pain. And if it continues, there's not going to be much left for me.(sports.espn.go.com)."
Smoltz does not expect to see post season action in his current condition leading many to think that the MLB rumors are true and the next time we will hear about his achievements will be when he is entered into the MLB Hall of Fame. According to major league baseball news, he is not ready to retire but his body has other plans. From the ESPN interview, I took it that there is still a burning desire to play the game but the burning sensation in his shoulder is becoming too much.
Smoltz is a CY Young winner and has since become a relief pitcher. On Monday, Smoltz came in for the save but ended up losing the game. He will have shoulder surgery and at 41, his contract expires after this season. Now is a good time to buy his MLB team clothing.
