It's always interesting to look at the old Movietone clips. Here is some 1950's baseball history showing President Harry Truman throwing out the ball at a Washington Senators game. Some other major league baseball players are Roger Maris and Micky Mantle who weren't playing on the same team until the 1960s. The 1951 pennant is shown with the New York Giants vs. the Brooklyn Dodgers with Bobby Thompsons' hit, dubbed "the shot heard around the world". Manager/owner Connie Mack of the Philadelphia Athletics and manager Casey Stengel of the New York Yankees were at the high points in their major league baseball careers and are shown with their teams respectively. Great clips!
